Teacher Appreciation Week - May 7-11th!

  May 7-11 is teacher appreciation week!
Join the GSES PTA in showing our unending gratitude to our teachers and staff for their hard work during the past year. It is not unusual to find our teachers and staff going out of their way to help our students. As our school year comes to a close, there is no better time to show your appreciation to those who deserve it most. We hope you’ll join us by either showing support on the following themed days. Feel free to show your appreciation to our teachers and staff in any way you are able. Our teachers and staff love to feel supported in all ways! Monday, May 7: Thanks a Bunch!

Tuesday, May 8: Chocolate Extravaganza – We’d like to encourage you or your student to send in a note of thanks and/or a flower as a way to kick of our week. We would also like to include some special notes and drawings along our entry way to show all visitors that our staff is valued for all that they do! If you would like your special note to be included in our display, please return in an envelope marked "PTA" or deliver it to Mrs. Schrader (GSES PTA Treasurer) in the school library or before Friday, May 4th. – Please bring in something that can accompany the chocolate fountain that PTA is bringing in for the staff. Some delicious treat ideas include strawberries, pineapple, apples, bananas, marshmallows, cookies, macaroons, pretzels, angel food cake, etc.
Wednesday, May 9: Random Acts of Kindness

There is no school for students on Thursday and Friday (May 10-11) due to elementary assessments. The GSES PTA will be providing lunch from the Glenwood Canyon Brew Pub to our staff on Thursday. Please drop off special dessert on Thursday for our staff if you are able.  

Kids will receive a flyer going home!  In addition to information regarding Adopt a Grizzly!
– Perform a gesture of goodwill (washing their windows, cleaning their classroom, volunteering for recess duty, etc.) or bring in a small gift or token of your appreciation. Teacher gifts do not need to be extravagant. A simple drawing, handmade item or note of thanks from you or your student can go a long way in making our teachers feel special and valued.

Pasta LaVista Family Fun Night! Friday April 13th 4:30-8:00 pm GSES Cafeteria and Gym 915 School Street!

This is a FUNdraiser for GSES - Spaghetti dinner - Silent Auction advance tickets are $5.00 per person or $25.00 for a family of five or more (purchase them at the front office at GSES) Tickets at the doors $7.00 per person and $30.00 for family or five or more.   Game room in the gym $1.00 per child, adults are free includes face painting, wheel of fortune, bingo, Wii dance off and may more activities.  Silent Auction are Grade level gift baskets, Rockies, Nuggets and Avalanche tickets, round of golf from Aspen Glen and many more items.  For more information you can 970-384-5450. 

PTA - GSES Community - Monday 9th at 5:30 p.m. meeting - Big Thanks!

Hello GSES community!

At our April meeting, Monday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the library, the GSES PTA would like to give a huge thanks to all of the awesome volunteers that make our school so special!

Please join us for a VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER, complete with salad, pizza and dessert, during our regularly scheduled meeting.

As always, there is FREE CHILDCARE during our meetings!

Grizzly Parents - Community Members!  We are hosting our 2nd Pasta La Vista Family Fun Night Fundraiser at GSES!  We asked the GSES Teachers what they would like to FUNdraise for: Top 5 are Elmo Document Readers, Mobile Smart Boards, IPads - IPods, Classroom Supplies & Teaching Aids and Playground Equipment. 

Spaghetti Dinner - choice of sauce, meatballs, bread, salad, beverages and desserts.  Advance tickets $5.00 per person or $25 for family of 5 or more.  At the door $7.00 per person or $30.00 for family of 5 or more

Silent Auction FUNdraiser - Bid on Rockies and Nugget tickets, restaurants, spa treatments, portrait session, yoga passes, round of golf at Aspen Glen, boutique items, homemade goodies, GSES GRADE LEVEL & ADMINISTRATION BASKETS! and much more!

Pennies for Playground!

If you have extra change floating around at your house, car, drawers bring them into school!  YEP Pennies for Playground!  This year there has been a committee meeting regarding a New and Improved Playground!  Each homeroom teacher has a jar that you can donate your Pennies!  This will be an on-going process and the great thing is that a committee of students whom have been apart of the committee will help design GSES playground! Michelle McReynolds (teacher) and Amy Connerton (parent volunteer) are persons you can contact for more information or volunteers to help this wonderful process!
